Tellico Village is famous for beautiful lakeside living and three 18-hole championship golf courses, but hidden away on one of the courses is a hole that will challenge even the most seasoned of golfers. We’re talking about the famous 9th hole at The Links at Kahite Golf Course, an 808 yard par 6. Yes, you read that correctly.
The Kahite course is the newest of the three Tellico Village golf courses, and it offers a unique style of play with beautiful views of Tellico Lake and also the Great Smoky Mountains. The course is a classic links style course featuring Bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways. Tall fescue lines some of the fairways, and many fairways feature challenging bunkers (the course features 93 bunkers in all!).
The Links at Kahite was nominated in 2003 to Golf Digest as the best new private course. It has since hosted several events for the Tennessee Golf Association including the 2006 Junior Amateur Qualifer and the 2008 Women’s Senior Amateur Championship. Kahite also hosted PGA Tour Nationwide Open Qualifiers in both 2009 and 2010.
